completion anxiety

evergreen

Completion anxiety is that feeling that we’re never really sure when we’ve done enough to call something complete.

In the knowledge work environment, there are no defined edges or boundaries to tasks or projects so we’re never sure what the definition of done is.

This anxiety can cause us to work extra hours in an effort to produce something better.

After all, as a knowledge worker or a creative, you are paid for the perceived value you create.

This pressure can paralyze us which leaves us feeling unable or not confident enough to fully engage with our work.
